AsRES Organizing Committee invites academics, research focused practitioners, and policy makers around the world interested in the various aspects of real estate to submit abstracts for presentation at the 2018 Annual

International Conference in Songdo, Incheon. Abstracts can be submitted no later than March 1, 2018.

                

The 23rd Annual Asian Real Estate Society (AsRES) Meeting will take place at the Songdo Convention Center in Incheon, Korea on 8-11 of July 2018. The conference will be sponsored by the Korean Real Estate Analysis

Association (KREAA) and the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA). The aim of the conference is to bring together academic researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to present research findings in the area of real estate finance, real estate economics, urban economics, and other related topics. The main theme of the conference will be “The Impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on Real Estate.”

Submission Guidelines

Well-developed abstracts or full papers must be submitted online following the submission guidelines posted on the AsRES 2018

March 1, 2018    Deadline for paper or abstract submission

March 15, 2018  Notification of accepted papers

May 10, 2018     Deadline for submission of full p apers for Best Paper Awards

May 15, 2018     Close of early-bird registration

June 17, 2018    Close of online conference registration (on-site registration will be available during the conference)

Tuesday, July 10  Parallel Sessions until late afternoon; Gala Dinner Wednesday, July 11 Parallel Sessions in the morning


The sessions are all in English. The keynote speaker is Edward Glaeser, Professor of Economics in the Faculty of Arts and

Sciences at Harvard University.


Conference Venue

The Songdo Convention Center is a landmark structure in Incheon. The Convention Center is a 25-minute drive from the

Incheon International Airport, and a 40-minute drive to Seoul via the 3rd Gyeongin Expressway.


Housing Information

The 2018 AsRES Official Hotel is the Oakwood Premier Incheon. The Oakwood Premier Incheon is a luxury aparthotel located

in Songdo, close to the Songdo Convention Center. The facilities include a restaurant, a health club, a bar/lounge, a coffee

shop/café, and a business center. More information can be found on the AsRES 2018 website www.asres2018.or.kr/asres2018.


Travel Information

Fly directly to Incheon International Airport from 180 cities in 50 countries. Transportation from Incheon International Airport

to the venue by airport limousine, local bus, subway, or taxi is very convenient.


Seoul Tour

As a part of the Conference Registration, delegates are invited to participate in a technical tour program of Songdo, which is free,

in the morning of Wednesday 11 July. After lunch, we welcome yo to join an afternoon tour of Seoul. The tour of Seoul will

include fascinating attractions such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Gwanghwamun, Bukchon Hanok Village, and Lotte World Mall.

The price has not been finalized yet, but it will cost under $40 including actual expenses.


Keynote Speaker

We invited Professor Edward Glaeser from Harvard as a keynote speaker. Edward Glaeser is the Fred and Eleanor Glimp

Professor of Economics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, where he has taught since 1992. He regularly

teaches microeconomic theory, occasionally urban and public economics and has served as Director of the Taubman Center for

State and Local Government and Director of the Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston for a decade. He has published dozens of

papers on cities, economic growth, and law and economics. In particular, his work has focused on the determinants of city

growth and the role of cities as centers of idea transmission. He received his PhD from the University of Chicago in 1992.
